Hey Dude! I remember coming across your work when i 1st loged in, and i saw one of your pieces. i can't remember which one it was, but when i looked at the rest of your work, i thought it was amazing. i think tattoo artists don't get enough credit, cuz when u see ppl w/ tats, a lot of ppl think "trash" or they're seen on metalheads, and just look cool. i think they're more than that. ik i'm a little young to be obsessed w/ tattoos, but i kind of aspire to be a tattoo artist, and ur on my influences! they're actual artwork, and i feel they represtent people really well, especially people make tats themselves do you know how to get a job as a tattoo artist?
Thanks for your support and I do agree that Tattoo Artist get left behind the bus sometimes. I can tell you that if you want to pursue a career in tattooing please study art first by going to college. Take classes on oil painting and drawing, plus you really need to be good at Digital art too. Once you have achieved this knowledge put together a great portfolio and hit the best tattoo studios around to seek an apprenticeship. Good Luck to you.
Thank you for that advise! I was wondering about college and if it was required to have a career as a tattoo artist, but I'm going to an arts high school, and I hope to countinue that into college! I went to some places around my area and went into some tattoo places and I wanted to ask a few questions about tats, including about college, which I thought should be questions answered by a pro, but when I walked in, you could just tell they were thinking "What the hell is this kid doing in a tattoo place underage?" lol so I left, and I was wondering if you could take the time to answer a few of my question. and tell me if you don't have the time for this, because I know I still have 3 years until I can really start work with tattoos XD
Just stick with your schooling and build your artist portfolio, once that's done start looking for a tattoo artist that will be willing to give you an apprenticeship, make sure the artist is what your looking for in a professional. Stay away from pricks that think they know it all, find an eager artist that has long term goals for his craft.
